The 2011 Cadillac DTS is the latest model year of the full-size luxury sedan from the Cadillac marque of General Motors. The DTS debuted in 2005 as Cadillac’s biggest sedan offering, and the 2011 model year is no exception.
Customers have four trims of the 2011 DTS to choose from: the base model (Base), Luxury, Premium and Platinum. Regardless of trim, the DTS has a very powerful engine: a 4.6-liter V-8 that generates 275 horsepower. The top-tier Platinum is even more powerful, providing 17 more horsepower than the other three trims. Each engine is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is measured at 15 miles per gallon (mpg) for the Base, Luxury and Premium trims, while the Platinum version provides a fuel efficiency of 15/22 mpg.
Besides its engine power, the main benefit of the 2011 Cadillac DTS is its spacious interior. Designed to seat up to five people, the sedan provides 115.3 cubic feet (cu. ft.) of passenger volume and 18.8 cu. ft. of cargo volume. In the front, the 2011 DTS offers 39 inches of headroom, 42.5 inches of legroom, 60 inches of shoulder room and 56.9 inches of hip room. Rear space consists of 38.6 inches of headroom, 41.6 inches of legroom, 59.2 inches of shoulder room and 56.7 inches of hip room.
Riding on 17-inch tires and alloy wheels — the Platinum version has 18-inch ones instead — the 2011 Cadillac DTS comes with automatic high intensity discharge (HID) headlights, daytime running lights, fog lights and power adjustable side mirrors. Other standard features include leather upholstery; premium stereo system; tire inflation/pressure monitor; and driver, passenger, front side and side head curtain airbags.
